CHILD STRATEGY
ART DIRECTION AND PUBLICATION DESIGN
Ellun Kanat 02–06/2021
Finland’s first National Child Strategy was developed in 2020. It aims to enable a society that respects children’s rights. It was decided that the significant issues covered in the strategy should be elevated in a way which would appeal to decision makers, childcare workers and parents, but address the younger age groups as well.
Thus, the strategy was composed into a bright visual environment, where at the center were children, illustrated as active characters. These illustrations visualize the central themes of the strategy. Inviting and accessible National Child Strategy has been translated into almost ten different languages. The graphic elements tempt readers to familiarize themselves with the strategy – regardless of their level of literacy.
